Quilter's Guild of East Texas to meet

The Quilter's Guild of East Texas will meet Thursday, Feb. 8 at 10 a.m. at the TASCA building 3402 Old Omen Rd., in Tyler.

The Troup VFW will meet Thursday, Feb. 8 at 7 p.m. at the Troup Library

Rose City Gourd Patch gathers

The initial meeting of this newly formed patch will be Saturday, Feb. 10, 10 a.m. to noon at Hobby Lobby in Tyler. All gourd artists and those interested in learning are invited to attend. For more information contact Cindy at 903-705-2738.

Henry Marsh Bell Masonic Lodge meeting

Henry Marsh Bell Masonic Lodge #1371 will meet Monday, Feb. 12 at 7 p.m. at the lodge hall. All Masonic Brothers are welcome to attend.

Retired school personnel to meet

Smith County Retired School Personnel Association will meet on Tuesday, Feb. 13 at 2 p.m. Larry Goddard of the TISD Foundation will speak on how private donations benefit public schools. The group meets at Plyler Instructional Complex, 807 W. Glenwood, Tyler.

WHS holds college financial aid workshop

Whitehouse High School is hosting a college financial aid workshop for parents on Tuesday, Feb. 13 at 6 p.m. in the WHS lecture hall. Counselors from TJC will help present information on applying for and accepting different forms of financial aid for college. All parents are invited, and senior parents are especially encouraged to attend.

Troup American Legion to meet

Troup American Legion will meet Tuesday, Feb. 13 at 7 p.m. at the legion hall.

Tyler Aggie Mom's Club meeting

The Tyler Aggie Mom's Club will meet Thursday, Feb. 15 at 7 p.m. at Pollard Methodist Church in Tyler. Bring scissors, hot glue guns, and sewing machines to help with the many projects underway for the annual Aggie Mom's Boutique. Contact Janice at 903-839-8202 for more information.

WJHS art department needs various items

The art department at Whitehouse Junior High School is looking for donations of fabric scraps, catalogs and school appropriate magazines. If you have items to donate, call Tina Penney at 903-839-5590 or drop off donations at the north office of the junior high.

Weight loss support group meets Mondays

The Eat Right For Life Support Group meets every Monday from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in the meeting room of the Regions Bank in Whitehouse (across from the Post Office). Meetings are free. For more information, call 903-839-7634.

Church Related Activities

Pilgrimage planned by Prince of Peace

Teens and adults from Prince of Peace Church in Whitehouse will be embarking on a pilgrimage to Italy from July 11- 23, 2007. The tour will include a visit to Rome and Vatican City. Contact Dee Bice of Bice Travel at 903-839-8264, or by e-mail at bicetravel@suddenlink.net. The deadline is Feb. 28.
