Arthena Lovett

Arthena Lovett, 77, of West Orange, died Thursday, Feb. 1, 2007, in Houston.

The funeral service was held at McDonald Memorial Baptist Church in West Orange on Feb. 3.

A graveside service followed at Henry's Chapel Cemetery, near Troup.

Mrs. Lovett was born on Aug. 7, 1929, in Homer, LA to Alvin and Cleo Cramer. She married Jack R. Lovett on Sept. 25, 1948, in Price, TX. They owned and operated numerous businesses in Orange. She also served as a nursing home administrator in Beaumont. Arthena was an active member of McDonald Memorial Baptist Church since 1953.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Reba Thompson, January 30, 2007 and Mary June Florence, May 17, 2006.

She is survived by her husband Jack R. Lovett of West Orange; children, Joy Lovett Henson and Steve Lovett both of Houston; grandchildren, one great grandson and nieces, nephews and their spouses.
