Reba Thompson

Services for Reba Thompson, 86, Troup, were held Feb. 2, at the First Baptist Church, Troup with the Rev. Mike Jeter and Johnny Johnson officiating. Burial was in the Henry's Chapel Cemetery, near Troup, under the direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.

She died Jan. 30, in a Tyler hospice facility. She was born Dec. 29, 1920, in Illinois, to the late Alvin S. and Cleo Smith Cramer.

Mrs. Thompson married John L. Thompson, Nov. 23, 1936, In Arp. He preceded her in death Dec. 20, 2003, following 67 years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Ricky Don Thompson, and a sister, Mary June Florence. Her sister, Arthena Lovett passed away Feb. 1, 2007.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Troup.

She is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, John A. and Pat Thompson, Mickey Don and Martha Thompson, Rex Allen and Karen Thompson, and Ronnie Dean and Jan Thompson, all of Troup; one daughter and son-in-law, Wanda Jean and Mike Johnson, Troup; a brother-in-law, Jack Lovett, Orange; ten grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, a great-great-granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Johnny Johnson, Jake Johnson, Adam Thompson, Kit Thompson, Ricky Thompson, Jr., Jason Dowdy, Chad Thibodeaux, Shannon Hargrave.
