James (Jim) Leland Holman

Services were held for James (Jim) Leland Holman on Feb. 7 at Burks-Walker Tippit-Funeral Home, Tyler, with Rev. Sherman Mayfield, Lake Tyler Baptist Church, and Rev. Kenneth Branam, Plymouth Park Baptist Church of Irving officiating. Lance Read, Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, provided the music.

Burial was in Union Grove Cemetery, east of Troup.

Mr. Holman died in Hospice of East Texas on Feb. 4, 2007. He was born in Troup on Sept. 25, 1938, to the late Dave Evan Holman and Zeddie Lee Worlie Holman. He had lived in the Whitehouse area for 45 years. He was a member of the M&M Sunday School Class at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Raymon Holman. He is survived by Barbara, his wife of 46 years; daughters, Kathy Thomasson and husband Tommy of Tyler and Lisa Gay Holman, a resident of Lufkin State School; son, Mark Holman and wife Tajuana of Tyler; granddaughters and their husbands, one grandson and great-granddaughters. Survivors also include sisters, Marie Thompson and husband Forrest of Tyler and Linda Holman of Jacksonville, sister-in-law, Modell Holman of Troup; mother-inlaw, Rachel Lambert of Ector; brothers-in-law, Brad Lambert and wife Dot of Howe, Glenn C. Lambert and wife Barbara Jean of Mansfield and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Pallbearers were Robert Holman, Cory Holman, Cody Holman, Brad Lambert, Dee Hanks and Wayland Saxon.
