UT Tyler's spring enrollment up The University of Texas at Tyler records a 5. 4 percent increase in headcount for the spring 2007 semester, President Rodney H. Mabr y announced. As of the 12th class day for the spring semester, total headcount is 5,715 compared to last spring's 5,424. Semester credit hours are up 7.8 percent, or 62,560, compared to last year's 58,040. These totals include UT Tyler's campuses in Longview and Palestine. The university continues to expand to meet the needs of its growing population. In fall 2006, UT Tyler opened one of two buildings that comprise the Ratliff Engineering and Science Complex. The Ratliff Building South houses the civil and environmental engineering program as well as the chemistry program. The North Building is expected to open in 2008 and will house mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, mathematics and physics programs. |
