Henderson, Smith exchange vows Jan. 6
The bride, daughter of Tim and Denise Henderson of Tyler, is a graduate of East Texas Christian Academy. She received her undergraduate degree from Abilene Christian University in Children's Ministry and continues working toward her Masters in Christian Ministry. Rachel is employed by ACU in the Honors Program and at David's Bridal in Abilene. The groom is the son of David and Virginia Smith of Whitehouse. He is a graduate of Whitehouse High School and received his undergraduate degree at ACU in Youth Ministry. Adam continues to work toward his Masters in Old Testament. He is a graduate assistant to the Bible department at ACU and a computer technician. The bride and groom were given in marriage to one another by their parents at the altar, along with a blessing. The bride wore a sweetheart cut dress with intricate beading donning the top. The gown was full with gathers all around the skirt and train. She carried a bouquet of bright flowers and a small white Bible that her Aunt Lesa carried in her wedding. Rachel also wore her late grandmother's wedding rings on her right hand. Sarah and Hannah Henderson, sisters of the bride, served as maids of honor. Bridesmaids were Kristen Eastland, Lauren Davis, Bonnie McKenzie, Erin Clardy and Heather Hobson. The attendants were attired in floor length chocolate brown, strapless, tissue taffeta dresses. Chris and Kyle Smith, brothers of the groom, served as best men. Groomsmen were Jonathan Smith, Justin Scott, Seth Shaver, John Leedy and Caleb Henderson. The men wore black tux with chocolate brown vests and ties. Flowergirls were BriAnna McCorkle and Mikayla Parker. Ringbearer was Noah Henderson. Becca Cawyer, Briana Litton, Kelsey Parker, Katie Scott, Lindsey Smith and Carla Williamson served as the houseparty. A reception followed the ceremony. The couple will reside in Abilene following a wedding trip to Akumal, Mexico. |
