Brown completes grant-writing workshop

Willie Brown of Whitehouse, community awareness in multicultural geriatric health, completed Part II-The Next Step where actual grants were written during A Circle of Ten's (C10) recent workshop. C10's Kathy Holdway, founder and president, and Pam Anderson, director of operations, were facilitators.

Part II covers grant writing, step-by-step, successful collaborations, follow-up, implementation and reporting.

Grants are actually written during the Part II workshops and are mailed. Many of these first-time grants have been funded. The class was divided into three teams with each team working on a different grant. Brown worked with Team One.

Workshops are held at C10's secluded Retreat Center in the woods of Van Zandt County, 20 minutes west of Tyler. This setting allows participants to get away from their busy lives while enhancing their learning experience.
