Adopt-A-Beach art contest under way AUSTIN - Jerry Patterson, Commissioner of the Texas General Land Office, is calling on Texas students to participate in the 11th annual Adopt-ABeach "Treasures of the Texas Coast" Children's Art Contest. The deadline to submit artwork is Friday, March 2. Open to students in grades K-6 across Texas, the contest motivates thousands of young artists each year. Any medium may be used, but artwork may not be computer generated. Three-dimensional art is ineligible. Artwork also must incorporate the Adopt-A-Beach slogan, "Trashing Texas Beaches Isn't Cool." One entry per student is allowed, and all entries must have a completed parental release form taped to the back. Forms may be printed from the GLO Web site located at www.texasadoptabeach. org. Entries must be submitted on an 8 ½-inch by 11-inch sheet of white paper. |
