City, school election filing under way

Filing for positions has begun in Troup and Whitehouse ISD as well as City Council places for both cities.

In Troup ISD, places six and seven are up for election. Incumbents Johnny Johnson and Bill Lacy have filed their intent to run for their respective positions.

Whitehouse ISD has seen incumbent Vince Primo file for his current position in place seven. Kevin Cashion currently holds place six, but as of yet, has not filed for re-election.

Whitehouse City Council has three places up for candidacy: places one, three and five. Only Dale Moran, current council member in place five, has filed.

Places one, three and four on the Troup City Council are also up for election. No incumbents have filed at this time.

Those interested in running as a candidate for any of these positions must file by March 12. For City Council positions, contact the respective city secretary, and for a position as a trustee, contact the school superintendent's secretary.
