Jewel Thelma Jenkins Services for Jewell Thelma Jenkins, 101, Jacksonville were held Feb. 14 at Thompson Funeral Home chapel, Jacksonville, with Ben Dan Thompson and Shawn Montandon officiating. Burial will be in Henry Cemetery, Gallatin. Mrs. Jenkins died Saturday, Feb. 10, 2007, in a Jacksonville nursing home. She was born July 17, 1905, in Anderson County. She was a homemaker, seamstress, artist and writer. She was a member of Mount Selman Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Jenkins; brothers, Alphis Cotton, Raymond Cotton and Ottis Cotton; and sisters, Letha Jenkins, Elanor Johnson, Jessie Dement, Ila Harper and Laneta Philen. Survivors include daughters, Delores Northen of Jacksonville, and Doretha Thompson and husband Ben Dan of Whitehouse; brother, Douglas Cotton and wife Betty of Jacksonville; sister, Jean Allen and husband Raye of Jacksonville; 10 grandchildren; 30 greatgrandchildren; 22 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Danny Thompson, Terry Sarders, Ben Alexander, Brent Allison, Todd Larsen and Michael Ruby. |
