Wente named to FSU Dean's List

Jessica Wente has been named to the Dean's List at the Florida State University in Tallahassee in recognition of her high academic achievement for the fall 2006 semester. A 2006 graduate of Whitehouse High School, Jessica is the daughter of Larry and Janet Wente. She is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in sports management.

Jessica is a member of the FSU women's tennis team which has won the FSU Golden Torch Award for the past nine consecutive years. The FSU Golden Torch Award is presented to the women's athletic team which has the highest overall grade point average.

Wente compiled a combined singles and doubles record of 19-6 during the first half of the Seminole tennis season. She won doubles titles at both the San Diego State University Fall Classic and the Miami University Invitational as well as a singles title in the Seminole Invitational Tournament.

Wente was the 2005 Texas UIL Class 4A state tennis singles champion as well as the 2003, 2004 and 2006 4A singles runner up during her time at WHS..
