Marshall 43

The varsity Wildcats hit the 30-game winning mark Tuesday night and are poised to go 14-0 in district with a win at home on Friday against Nacogdoches.

The Cats overpowered Marshall, 64-43, behind the long-range shooting of Mitch Marquis, who hit four treys and scored 14 total points.

Kyle Ford added 13 en route to helping 18th-ranked Whitehouse fulfill head coach Wally Dawkins' preseason prediction of at least 30 wins.

In the JV game, Whitehouse won 51-34, while the freshmen lost 47-52.

The Cats host Nacogdoches on Friday.

Troup 56, Waskom 63

The Tigers' bid for a threeway tie for third place came up short with a 56-63 loss to Waskom, ending the season with a 7-7 conference mark and 8-20 overall.

Scorers for Troup were Cordell Jiles with 20, Reginald Wade 18, Chris Davis 7, Nick Harrison 4, Chris Ward 3 and Joel Hasley and Derrikk Thompson each with 2.

Waskom also triumphed in the JV contest, 52-40.

Cody Lepelley led the Tigers with 13, followed by Ammon Weaver with 10, Jake Johnson 8, Nick Reeves 7 and Michael Ritchie 2.
