Clark & Ford: 'Dynamic Duo' leads Cats

The junior "Dynamic Duo" if you will, of 6'6 Postman Cade Clark and 6'4 Guard Kyle Ford continues to pace the Whitehouse Wildcats this 2006- 2007 season.
The Wildcats, currently 30-2 on the season and 13-0 in District 12-AAAA platy, rely heavily on the inside-outside punch of Clark and Ford.
Clark, who is generally found around the basket, also has the ability to score from the perimeter. Averaging 17 points a game, Clark leads the team in scoring as well as blocked shots and rebounding.
Clark's statistics have caught the eye of tournament directors (All-Tourney in Abilene and Lindale) as well as prospective college coaches (Oral Roberts, Centenary, Texas-Arlington, Texas-San Antonio, Northern Iowa, to name a few).
Clark's talents have drawn praise from WHS Head Coach Wally Dawkins.
"Cade is the real deal' Dawkins said. "He can score inside, shoot the three-pointer, battles anyone and everyone on the boards, he is just a really good player. Cade has won us many games with his scoring and defense."
Playing away from the basket most of the time is the long and lean Kyle Ford. Ford is second in East Texas in three point baskets made with 69 Trifectas. But as of late, the "blonde bomber" has been noticed for his high-flying dunks and double-dip moves to the basket. Ford is also one of the team's leading rebounders, and Dawkins thinks Ford will eventually go "big time."

"I think Kyle Ford has as much potential as any player at this stage of his game that I have ever coached," said Dawkins.
"He is so long, has such a good vertical, and one of the prettiest shots I've ever seen. If we can get him a little quicker and playing harder ... the sky is the limit."
Ford has also been noticed by several NCAA Div ision I schools, and Dawkins believes each element of the "Dynamic Duo" is college bound.
"These two kids will both be Division I players some day if they continue to improve, work hard, and play well in AAU ball this spring and summer," Dawkins said.
"But their real asset is how smart both kids are and how what great kids they are. They are both just super individuals."
Coach Dawkins also expects Clark and Ford to be instrumental in the Cats run in the upcoming state AAAA playoffs.
"For us to do well, Cade Clark and Kyle Ford will have to play well each and every night. Both of these kids have the ability to get us deep into the playoffs."
