Tyler Parks and Recreation plans free movies starting March 3

Tyler Parks and Recreation presents the first installment of Free Movies in the Park. The animated feature film "Open Season" will kick off the 2007 season in the Bergfeld Park amphitheater on Saturday, March 3. Showtime is at 7 p.m. Admission is free.

Popcorn and soft drinks will be provided, and patrons are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and to dress for the outdoor event.

"We invite everyone to enjoy a safe venue for quality family entertainment," said Van Jordan of the Tyler Parks and Recreation Department. Security will be provided.

Upcoming movies include "Barnyard," 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 24, and "Charlotte's Web" 8 p.m. Saturday, May 12.
