Christene Knight

Services for Christene Langley "Mother Dear" Knight, 95, Tyler, were held Feb. 17 at The Heritage Building with the Rev. Billy Paul Cleaver officiating.

Burial will be in New Canaan Cemetery, Whitehouse, under direction of John R. Harmon Undertaking Co., Tyler.

Mrs. Knight died Feb. 10, 2007, at her residence.

She was born June 15, 1911, in Whitehouse and was a lifelong resident of Smith County. She attended Blackjack schools and was a domestic worker and a member of Bethel Temple Church of God in Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, two daughters, one son and 12 siblings.

Survivors include sons, George Knight and Joe Knight, both of Tyler; brother, Ozell Langley, Whitehouse; and three grandchildren.

Pallbearers were James Langley, Patrick Johnson, Leonard Heartsfield, John Carter, Glenn Ross, Mozell Langley, Floyd Ross and James Langley.
