Chamber banquet tomorrow night
Gohmert is an excellent speaker, and the Chamber moved its banquet from Thursday to Friday in order to get him, said President Mike Cline. The event begins at 6 p.m. in the high school cafeteria. Following the meal, guests will move to the auditorium for presentations and Rep. Gohmert's remarks. ""I was so very honored to be invited to speak at the Troup Chamber Banquet. I am pleased that our schedules have finally allowed that to happen," said Rep. Gohmert. "Sometimes, people find my talks very restful and can catch up on their sleep. "I hope to share some things I have learned during my time as an elected official. Hopefully, it will be entertaining and informative as well as restful."
The Chamber will identify citizen of the year, firefighter of the year, police officer of the year and business of the year. Tickets are $15 or two for $25. The meal will be provided by the Troup Women's Civic Organization
