Harold Wallace

Services for Harold Wallace, 81, Tyler, were held Feb. 23 at Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Directors chapel, Tyler, with the Revs. Randy Wallace, Charles Bell and Barry Wilson officiating.

Burial was in Liberty Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Wallace died Feb. 19, 2007 in a Lindale nursing home.

He was born Jan. 9, 1926 in Seagraves to the late Marion S. and Bertha Bashaw Wallace. He served in the Navy and Coast Guard during World War II and Korea. He owned and operated Harold's Furniture Service for many years and was a member of Friendly Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by son, Bruce Wallace, in 1969; grandson, Michael Wallace; brothers, Beecher, Frank, Grady and Ray; and sisters, Esther Powell and Ruth Dean.

Survivors include his wife, Roberta Wallace, Tyler; children, James Wallace and Vivian Grant, both of Sugar Land, Patricia Gowen, Longview, Robert Wallace, Gallup, N.M., Burt Wallace, Whitehouse, Jeff Wallace, Tyler, Randy Wallace, Killeen, and Eva Wilson, Kingwood; sister, Winnia McCallister, Rio Vista, Calif.; 32 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Clayton Wallace, Jamie Wallace, Andy Wallace, Brian Wallace, Bradley Wallace, John Wallace, Tyler Wallace, Joseph Wagnon, Daniel Wilson and David Wilson.
