Kickers drop Eagles, 1-0

The Wildcats had a fight on their hands Tuesday as the Lindale Eagles came to play. The game proved to be a physical match as both teams racked up the fouls. The Eagles had two yellow cards and one red card in the game, while the Cats received one yellow card.

The first half was a defensive test for both teams. The Eagles outshot the Cats 4 to 2 but the half ended 0-0. The second half the Cats seemed to take control of the game as they put together more opportunities to score. And that they did with 32:54 remaining in the second half.

Paul Metzner threw the ball in from about the 20-yard line; there were no less than 12 players in the goal box waiting on the through when the ball found Eric O'Neill who headed the ball in the goal for what proved to be the game winner.

Justin Parker recorded his 12th shutout of the season and the Cats remain on top of the district at 8-1-0.
