Texas East Gymnastics hosting invitational

Texas East Gymnastics Booster Club is hosting the first Rose City Classic Gymnastics Invitational for female gymnasts of all competitive levels.
The Rose City Classic Gymnastics Invitational will take place March 10-11 at the University of Texas at Tyler Patriot Center. Competing athletes from all levels of competitive gymnastics, including the international elite level, will be representing many areas of Texas and surrounding states.
Three sessions are scheduled for Saturday at 8 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 5 p.m., with two sessions on Sunday at 8 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
The feature session that includes the highest-level Junior Olympic and International Elite athletes will be the Saturday session at 4:30 p.m.
Ticket prices are $10 for adults and $5 for children (ages 4-12) per session or weekend passes at $15 for adults and $8 for children. Children ages 3 and under are free.
The Texas East Gymnastics Booster Club with The Children's Advocacy Center of Smith County as a charity event partner will host the meet, which is sanctioned by USA Gymnastics.
"This is an exciting time in USA gymnastics with recent Olympic and world champions. We are thrilled to be a part of the development of great athletes here in Tyler, Texas," said Martin Parsley, TEG head coach and meet director.
The Texas East Gymnastics Booster Club is a fund-raising organization that aims to help defray the high costs of traveling and competing in women's gymnastics for local athletes. All proceeds from the meet will go to the Booster Club with a portion to be donated to The Children's Advocacy Center of Smith County.
