Joseph Harold "Papa Joe" Chevalier

Services for Joseph Harold "Papa Joe" Chevalier, 65, Troup were held March 7 at the Cottle Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Hank Godwin officiating. Burial was in the Pinecrest Cemetery,Troup.

Mr. Chevalier died March 4, in Troup. He was born July 23, 1941 in Buckholtz to the late Wayne Wright Chevalier and Pauline Todd Chevalier.

He moved to Troup in 1992, from Houston. He was formerly employed for Brown and Root in Longview for 23 years and currently was employed by CBI, Tyler. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by four brothers, Floyd Chevalier, Houghton Chevalier, Barney Chevalier and Thomas Chevalier; and a sister, Mary Martin.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Chevalier, Troup; five daughters, Mary Houghton, Georgia Godwin, Mobile, Ala., Julie Lawson, Whitehouse, Tammy Harrison, Troup, and Cheri Cooper, Houston; a brother, Clifford Chevalier, Hallettesville; a sister, Iris Field, Austin; seven grandchildren, Holly Houghton, Jonathan Godwin, Farrah Fasang, Mel Fasang, Summer Brown, Madison Rayford and Zachary Harrison; and numerous nieces and nephews.
