Whitehouse food pantry seeks support

Philadelphia Blessing food pantry needs the support of the community to continue serving those most in need.

"We need help. We definitely need help," said Charles Blackmon, Philadelphia Blessing director.

Blackmon said the food pantry is running low on both supplies and the cash necessary to purchase food from East Texas Food Bank.

Blackmon said Philadelphia Blessing regularly helps about 350-400 people per month in the South Tyler, Whitehouse and Troup area. Philadelphia Blessing needs non-perishable food item donations, as well as monetary contributions to make additional purchases.

Blackmon said the group would like to find individuals, businesses or civic groups who would be willing to be a regular monthly sponsor.

Interested donors may contact Blackmon at 2223 Belvedere Blvd., Tyler, TX 75702, or call 903-597-8679.
