Vinson A. Shelton

GUN BARREL CITY - Services for Vinson A. Shelton, 78, of Gun Barrel City were held at Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home, Mabank, with the Rev. Eston Williams officiating.

Mr. Shelton died March 10, 2007 in Tyler. He was born March 26, 1928 in Tyler. Formerly of New Mexico, he lived in Gun Barrel City for 27 years and was a member of Aley United Methodist Church. He was a geologist and retired from Schlumberger Tyler Distribution with 25 years of service. He served in the Marine Corps.

Survivors include his wife, Faye Shelton, Gun Barrel City; sons, David Shelton, Whitehouse, and Steven Shelton, Smithville; daughter, Nancy Shelton, Gun Barrel City; sister, Patricia Miears, Tyler; and seven grandchildren.
