Walter Reiffert Dawson

Walter Reiffert Dawson of Whitehouse, formerly of Cuero, died on March 7 with internment at the Whitehouse Memorial Cemetery. He is survived by four children, Walter Leonard Mathis and wife Doris of Whitehouse, David Marlin Dawson of Bay City, Bobby Ross Dawson and wife Shirley of Splendora, and survived by eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren with one more on the way. He survived his wife Lucille by 29 days and was also preceded in death by his parents, David Marlin Dawson and Florence Payne Dawson, sisters Laura Kueker and Zeller Wilson, brothers Ross Cunningham and Haggard Dawson, and infant grandson, Matthew Fain McMillan.

Funeral services were held March 10 at Lloyd James Funeral Home in Tyler. Internment was at the Whitehouse Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers were his grandsons Mark McMillan and Robert Dawson, grandson-in-law Randy Austin, nephews Roy Kueker and Bill Kueker and longtime friend Curtis Afflerbach.
