Opal E. Billingsley

Services for Opal E. Billingsley, 92, of Tyler were held March 11 at Lloyd James Funeral Home, Tyler, with Dr. Darryle Dunks officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Billingsley died March 9, 2007, in Tyler.

She was born March 19, 1914 in Grand Saline to the late B.C. and Bertha Blackstock Dodd. She attended North Texas State University and Southern Methodist University. She lived in Tyler since 1966 and was a secretary for her husband's State Farm Insurance agency. She taught piano for many years, was an organist for First Baptist Church of Troup and was a member of Green Acres Baptist Church and Lydia Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alton Billingsley, and sister, Jewel Dorough.

Survivors include nieces, nephews and other relatives. Nephews served as pallbearers.
