Troup claimed its second tournament win in three weeks, narrowly defeating Carlisle in the championship game, 6-5.

The Tigers were powered by pitcher Brice Clark, going 4-for-4, and Joel Hasley, who belted a three-run homer.

Troup had an easier time in the semifinal matchup with Poyner, claiming a 6-2 win to set up Saturday's championship contest.

Hasley and Clark both doubled, while Thacher Riddle contributed a triple. Preston Pittinger doubled and also picked up the win on the mound.

The tournament wins improve the Tigers season record to 12-2, including a 3- 0 district opening victory over Waskom last Tuesday.

Troup's junior varsity withstood a rally by East Texas Christian Academy to earn the 6-4 win over the Panthers Friday.

Nick Reeves doubled twice and Austin Claiborne once for the Tigers.

Mason Ballard picked up the victory.
