Walker memorial service today

A community memorial service for Stanley Walker of Whitehouse will be today at 4 p.m. in the high school auditorium. Mr. Walker died Monday, March 19 of lung cancer. See obituary, page 2A.

In February it was announced that Mr. Walker was going to be inducted into the Texas Bandmasters Hall of Fame which is the highest honor a band director can receive in the state of Texas. The induction ceremony will be held in July. Walker was a longtime East Texas band director, including five years at WISD.
