Tigers slay Elysian Fields

Troup rebounded from its first district loss to Tatum on Friday, March 16 with a resounding victory over Elysian Fields Tuesday night, 11-0.

Senior pitcher Nick Harrison struck out seven in five shutout innings as the Tigers improved to 3-1 in district.

At the plate, Harrison had 3 RBIs, as did Austin Braswell who was 2-for-2.

Adam Voigt was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI.

Voigt also had a double in Troup's 4-2 loss to Tatum.

The Tigers recorded their second district win Tuesday, March 13 against West Rusk.

In the 5-2 victory, Harrison struck out 15 and went 2-for-3, including an RBI.

Next up for the boys will be a road game against Timpson on Friday. The Lady Tigers softball squad will also be playing there, beginning at 6 p.m.
