Lady Cats finish fifth at WH meet

The Lady Cat track squad finished fifth at the Wildcat Relays Saturday, earning 57 points.

Junior Brittany Wilkens' second place finish in the 800 meter run was the team's top placement of the day.

Wilkens' time in the 800 meter run was 2:29.

In the 100 meter dash, Shan Butler finished fourth with a time of 12.96.

Janae Lacey earned fifth place in the 200 meter dash with a 27.50 performance.

The girls finished fifth in the 400 meter relay with a time of 50.69. Team members were Jesse Allen, Shan Butler, Janae Lacey and Amber Brown.

In the 800 meter relay, the Lady Cats claimed third place with a time of 1:48.75. Team members were Jesse Allen, Shan Butler, Molly Jamison and Amber Brown.

Whitehouse also finished third in the 1600 (mile) relay race with a time of 4:22.81. Team members were Molly Jamison, Brittany Wilkens, Betsey Asbil and Brittany Tate.

Sarah Stanley and Rebecca Hanna placed fourth and fifth in the 100 meter hurdles. Stanley recorded a time of 18.25, while Hanna ran an 18.38 race.

In the high jump, Chelsea Primo finished fourth with a jump of 4'8".

In the pole vault, Whitehouse finished fourth and fifth behind the performances of Christina Kennamer and Brittany Tate.

Kennamer cleared 8'6" and Tate cleared 7'6".

Next up for the Lady Cats is the Mount Pleasant meet on Friday.
