Whitehouse 'B' team splits home games

The Whitehouse JV "B" baseball team was in action at home last Friday night as they were dealt a tough 3-2 loss at the hands of the visiting Bobcats from Hallsville.

Skip Caldwell would go 2-4 with an RBI and a run scored to lead the offense. Jacob Hilburn would score the only other run for the Wildcats in the fifth to give the Wildcats a 2-0 lead.

However, Hallsville would get to Wildcat starter Justin Haynie in the sixth for three runs, and the Wildcats would fail to produce the tying run in the top of the seventh.

Haynie would have a solid start on the hill scattering seven hits while striking out five.

The Wildcats also traveled to Leverett's Chapel Saturday for a double-header. In the first game, Blake Bishop had a strong outing on the mound going four innings and allowing only one run on one hit while striking out four to get the win in an 11-1 game. Clint Turman would throw three scoreless innings in relief with five K's and only allowing a single in the seventh. Payton Smith would lead the offensive attack going 2-3, including a double while Kevan House would also double in the third inning. Hilburn would pick up another double and score three runs.

In the second game, the Wildcats would blow the game open early in the second inning putting up 10 runs on their way to a 20-8 victory.

Dalton Stroud and Terry Novak would handle the mound duties for the Wildcats as they would combine for three strikeouts only allowing one walk and giving up seven hits that led to the eight runs for Leverett's Chapel.

Haynie would go 2-2 scoring 4 runs for the game while Logan Taylor would produce a 2-2 game including a 2-run homer in the third inning. Conner Crawford would also go 2-2 with a bases clearing double in the second.

The JV "B" team will play host to Union Grove next Tuesday starting at 6 p.m.
