Art society has induction, awards ceremony

The National Art Honor Society at Whitehouse High School hosted an induction ceremony and awards presentation at the high school Thursday, March 22. Members and their parents were welcomed by WHS art instructor Lisa Kendall, with the induction of new members by officers Adriana Garza and Amber Gafford.

New inductees for the 2006- 2007 school year are: Brandi Bankhead, Molly Carrington, Jordan Cogburn, Adriana Garza, Jeff Joyce, Sharon Puren, Jessica Root, Danielle Symonds and Cory Terre. New inductees were charged with "giving back to the world the same element of beauty that each of them as an artist takes from it."

Awards were then presented by Ms. Kendall and WHS art instructor Christine Killian for students participating in Visual Arts Scholastic Event and the Tyler Museum of Art Senior Exhibition.

Rounding out the evening of celebration was a plethora of door prizes, all with an art related theme.
