Groups team up to offer makeover

What a great gift for Mother's Day, a makeover. However, it won't involve facial scrubs or cucumber masks. It will be more like paint and nail guns.

Whitehouse First Assembly of God Church and Giving Hope Ministries are joining forces to award an extreme room makeover to a deserving single mom in Whitehouse.

Pastor Michael Fleming says his congregation has many who are anxious to help out. And partnering with Giving Hope Ministries is the ideal way to make this happen.

The mission of Giving Hope is to provide a Christ-focused ministry for single mothers in need and to identify resources to help these women reach and maintain self-sufficiency. This type of project is just what many single moms need. Many are financially strapped and don't have the extra money or time to fix things up around the house.

If you are a single mom or know a single mom you would like to nominate, write a short essay (250 words or less) stating why you, or the person you are nominating, deserve to win this fabulous room make-over. Include name, address, phone number and a brief description of the room to be made over. Entries should be mailed to Whitehouse First Assembly of God, P.O. The deadline for entries to reach the church is April 30. The winner will be announced on Mother's Day.
