Lady Cats earn trip to playoffs

The Lady Cat softball squad downed Pine Tree Friday, April 13, improving their district mark to 10-2 and securing a playoff spot. The girls have just two district games remaining: hosting Hallsville Friday (for senior night) and traveling to Henderson Saturday.

The home game begins at 6 p.m., and the Saturday contest starts at 10 a.m.

Emily Costlow pitched all seven innings in the Lady Cats 9-2 victory over Pine Tree. The freshman ace struck out 10, walked three and gave up two earned runs.

Leading the team offensively were Chelsey Boulware going 3- for-5 and Erica Fuller 3-for-3.
