McKamies celebrate 50th anniversary

Dudley and Martha McKamie
Dudley and Martha McKamie celebrate 50 years of marriage on April 28. Mr. McKamie and the former Martha Colman married on April 28, 1957 at Sacred Heart Church in Palestine. Shortly after marrying, the couple moved to Tyler to start their lives together, and eventually came to Whitehouse in 1985.

Mr. McKamie retired from Kelly Springfield Tire Company in 1999 after 35 and a half years. Mrs. McKamie retired from Southside Bank, also in 1999, after more than 20 years. The McKamies have five daughters, Diane Smith of Whitehouse, Debbie Pardue of Bullard, Lisa McKamie of Whitehouse, Gena Phillips of Wills Point and Shelley Poole of Whitehouse.

The McKamies are members of Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Whitehouse and stay busy traveling and spending time with their family, including nine grandchildren ranging in age from 23 years old to the youngest at nine months.

A reception, hosted by their daughters, will be held in their honor April 29 at the Rose Garden Center. The couple will also celebrate their anniversary together with a cruise to Alaska in May.
