      The Whitehouse Lady Cats bowed out of the playoffs, losing two close games to North Lamar. Playing in Greenville, North Lamar swept Whitehouse in two games, winning Thursday 1-0 and Friday 2-1.

      The Whitehouse Wildcats would fall in a slugfest last Tuesday in Marshall by the final score of 12-11. The Wildcats would score three in the bottom of the seventh to cut the lead to one, but would leave the tying and go ahead runs on to end the game.

      Last Friday was senior recognition night at Wildcat Park, and with all the honors going to the seniors and with the Wildcats facing Nacogdoches who had just come off of a 14- 2 pouncing over district leader Pine Tree, this game had the makings of a possible mismatch.

Girls hoops camp open for registration
      The Whitehouse Lady Cat Basketball Camp will be May 28 through June 1 at Whitehouse High School. Camp hours will be 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. daily. Girls entering grades one through nine will be eligible to attend and will be grouped according to age and ability.

McFarlin promotes Moore, Shields
      Whitehouse athletic director Randy McFarlin has announced promotions for coaches Sam Shields and Reno Moore. Coach Shields is the new defensive coordinator, assuming those duties from McFarlin, who has been pulling double duty as head coach and defensive play-caller.

WILDCATS SENIOR NIGHT
      The Wildcats honored their seniors Friday night before the seasonending loss to Nacogdoches. A late inning surge gave the Dragons an 11-3 victory. "The score is no indication of how well we played tonight," said Coach Danny Robey.

      Tuesday was a big day at Whitehouse High School as three more Wildcat football players signed letters of intent, bringing the total to seven for the 2007 senior class. All three players inked with East Texas Baptist University.
