Girl Scout troop holds garage sale

Girl Scout troop #164 will hold a fund-raiser garage sale and last minute cookie sale on Saturday, May 5 beginning at 8 a.m. at 103 Gardenview in Whitehouse.

Overton-New London Community Garage Sale

The good folks of the Overton-New London area have cleaned out their closets, cupboards, garages and yards! Bring your trucks and trailers ready to hit the mother-load of all sales on Saturday, May 5 beginning at 8 a.m. Local businesses will have maps.

East Texas Writers Guild will meet

The East Texas Writers Guild will meet Monday, May 7 at Traditions Restaurant in Tyler. The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. Please go through the food line, then to the meeting room they've set aside for us. Feel free to bring along your family or other guests.

Troup American Legion Auxiliary to meet

Troup American Legion Auxiliary will meet Tuesday, May 8 at 6 p.m. at the legion hall.

Retired school personnel to meet

Smith County Retired School Personnel Association will meet on Tuesday, May 8 at 6 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Tyler, 301 W. Ferguson. This meeting will be the group's awards banquet and installation of 2007-08 officers. Installation ceremonies will be conducted by TRTA District VII President Francis Plemmons.

Troup Sons of the Legion to meet

Troup Sons of the Legion will meet Wednesday, May 9 at 7 p.m. at the legion hall.

Troup VFW to meet

The Troup VFW will meet Thursday, May 10 at 7 p.m. at the Troup Library

Arts and Crafts Fair benefit

Trinity Mother Frances Family Care Center will hold its 3rd annual Arts and Crafts Fair to benefit Children's Miracle Network on Friday, May 11, from 9 a.m. - 5:30p.m. in the Wisenbaker Conference Center at Mother Frances Hospital. Over 20 plus vendors will present their wares; from pottery, handmade jewelry, art work, baked goods, plants, embroidery, candles, painted gourds, floral baskets, earrings, beaded necklaces, rings and a large variety of other crafts that will make your Mother's Day shopping easy and unique.

KWB garage sale set

Keep Whitehouse Beautiful is holding a HUGE garage sale on Friday, May 11 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, May 12 from 8 a.m. to noon. The sale will take place on the parking lot just south of the Sonic on Hwy. 110 in Whitehouse.

Whitehouse library activities

The Whitehouse Library offers these activities: Story time is on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. and scrapbooking nights are the third Friday of each month at 6:30 p.m. Come visit the library!

Troup American Legion hosts karaoke

Troup American Legion Post 418 has karaoke every Saturday night from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Church Related Activities

Baptist Forerunners meet

The Forerunners, senior adults of First Baptist Church of Troup, will meet for a noon covered dish luncheon Monday, May 7. Troup Police Chief Pat Hendrix will bring a program on "Identity Theft."

School Related Activities

WHS Prom work wrapping up

All junior parents and students are asked to attend the final work sessions for the Whitehouse Jr/Sr Prom on Friday, May 4 at 3 p.m. and Saturday, May 5 at 8 a.m.

WHS bands present spring concert

The WHS bands will present their annual Spring concert on Monday, May 14 in the WHS Arena beginning at 7 p.m. Admission is free.

WHS Band Boosters host Outback Hamburger Supper

Prior to the May 14 WHS band concert, Outback Steakhouse is catering a hamburger supper in the WHS cafeteria from 5-7 p.m. Tickets for the supper are $7.50 each and are on sale from band students and band booster parents.

WJHS Band concert set

The Whitehouse Junior High Band Concert will be on Thursday night, May 17 at 7 p.m. in the Whitehouse High School auditorium.

WHS Class of 1997 plans reunion

The Whitehouse High School Class of 1997 is seeking contact information for their upcoming 10 year reunion. Anyone who graduated from WHS in 1997 or those with information on 1997 grads, please send that contact information to whsclassof97@gmail.com.
