Girls hoops camp open for registration

The Whitehouse Lady Cat Basketball Camp will be May 28 through June 1 at Whitehouse High School. Camp hours will be 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. daily.

Girls entering grades one through nine will be eligible to attend and will be grouped according to age and ability. Camp activities will include skills instruction and competition and will be conducted by WHS and junior high coaches.

Registration fee is $60. A spot may be reserved for $20, with the remaining $40 due the first day of camp.

Spots are still available, and registration forms are available at Brookshire's and local banks.

FOOTBALL

Whitehouse football coaches are holding "Air It Out" summer camps for quarterbacks and receivers. Each camp will provide instruction in the fundamentals of throwing and catching. Camps will be held at the WHS practice fields.

Camp staff will include WH football coaches, plus some college athletes.

Camp I will be June 4-8, from 9 a.m. to noon, for athletes entering grades fourth, fifth and sixth.

Camp II will be June 11- 15, 9 a.m. to noon, for athletes entering seventh and eighth grades.

The cost to attend each camp is $60.

BASKETBALL

Whitehouse Boys Basketball Summer Camp forms are at Brookeshire's in Whitehouse or Sports Plus across from Trane in Tyler.

Three camps are slated:

Pre-K through third, June 11-14, 8 a.m. until noon.

Fourth-sixth, June 18-21, 8 a.m. until noon.

Fifth-eighth, June 18-21, 12:30-4:30 p.m.

The camps are held at Whitehouse High School and emphasize offensive skills and 5 on 5 team play, as well as individual and small group competitions.
