Sandra Brown to speak June 7 at Tyler theater

Sandra Brown, best-selling author of over 60 novels and former Tyler resident, will make two appearances at the Braithwaite Theatre in the Tyler Civic Theatre Center on Thursday, June 7. Guests will have two opportunities to meet her on that day - from 2-4 p.m. and from 6-8 p.m. She appears in Tyler to help the fundraising campaign for the expansion of the Theatre Center.

Ms. Brown began her career in 1981 and since that time has published 65 novels, including more than 50 that made the New York Times best seller lists.

A lifelong Texan, Ms. Brown was born in Waco and raised in Ft. Worth. She worked as a model and as a television reporter and weathercaster before taking up writing. During part of this period, she lived in Tyler and worked for KLTV, Channel 7, along with her husband Michael Brown. Currently, the couple lives in Arlington.

Her appearances on June 7 will feature KLTV personalities Barry Hanson and Joan Hallmark engaging Ms. Brown in dialogue about her life and work. The audiences will also be able to ask questions.

The 2-4 p.m. session requires a $15 donation. The 6-8 p.m. session requires a $25 donation. A slightly larger donation -- $25 in the afternoon or $75 in the evening -- guarantees guests celebrity seating and a personalized autographed book without having to stand in the autograph line.

Tickets are on sale now and available via the Theatre Center website www.tylercivic theatre.com or through the Theatre Center box office at 400 Rose Park Drive, Tyler 75202; send a check to TCTC to that address or by going to the center on Monday-Friday between the hours of 10:30-1:30 and 2:30-5:30. Those wishing to have their tickets mailed should include a $1 handling fee.
