James Daniel Moon
ARP - Services for James Daniel Moon, 65, of Arp were held April 27 at the Cottle Funeral Home chapel in Troup, with the Rev. Richard Boone officiating. Burial, with military honors, was in the Ebenezer Cemetery, near Arp.

Mr. Moon died April 25 near Wells. He was born Oct. 8, 1941 in San Benito to the late David Daniel Moon and Willie Margaret Andrews Moon. He was a graduate of San Benito High School and received his degree in Physics from the Texas A&M University, Kingsville.

He served in the U.S. Navy for four years, and served four years in the U.S. Air Force, during the Vietnam war.

Mr. Moon had been a resident of the Arp area since 1981 and had previously lived in Laredo, Bishop, and Harlingen. He taught physics and calculus at Arp High School and was currently employed by Mudlogging Company of Houston as a supervisor.

He loved animals including his dogs Daisy and Mattie and his cats Lexie, Ruby Begonia, and Raggedy Andy.

He married Marjorie Douglas in Harlingen, May 14, 1972.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Marjorie Moon, Arp; two sons and daughters-in-law, Noel and Tracy Moon, Nacogdoches, and Link and Shanon Moon, White Oak; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Tommy and Ruth Moon, San Antonio, and Billy and Jan Moon, Lakeside, Calif.; seven grandchildren, Dustin Moon, Jeremy Moon, Cole Moon, Taylor Moon, Haley Moon, Hannah Moon, and Weston Moon.
