Troup VFW to meet

The Troup VFW will meet Thursday, May 10 at 7 p.m. at the Troup Library

Arts and Crafts Fair benefit

Trinity Mother Frances Family Care Center will hold its 3rd annual Arts and Crafts Fair to benefit Children's Miracle Network on Friday, May 11, from 9 a.m. - 5:30p.m. in the Wisenbaker Conference Center at Mother Frances Hospital. Over 20 plus vendors will present their wares; from pottery, handmade jewelry, art work, baked goods, plants, embroidery, candles, painted gourds, floral baskets, earrings, beaded necklaces, rings and a large variety of other crafts that will make your Mother's Day shopping easy and unique.

KWB garage sale set

Keep Whitehouse Beautiful is holding a HUGE garage sale on Friday, May 11 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, May 12 from 8 a.m. to noon. The sale will take place on the parking lot just south of the Sonic on Hwy. 110 in Whitehouse.

Compassionate Friends to meet

The Compassionate Friends of Tyler, a support group for families who have experienced the death of a child will meet Tuesday, May 15 at 6:30 p.m. at 707 West Houston, Tyler, TX. For additional information please visit our website at www.TylerTCF.org or call 903-258-2547.

Seminar concerning foster children offered

Judge Carole Clark is sponsoring a 2 hour seminar on May 18 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The seminar will be held in the 321st District Court in the Smith County Courthouse. The title is "Attachment Disorders in Foster Children." It will be taught by Dr. Caryn Purvis from TCU. This area is her specialty. CLE credits for lawyers is pending. Masonic Lodge #1371 to meet

Henry Marsh Bell Masonic Lodge #1371 will meet Monday, May 14 at 7 p.m. at the lodge. All Masonic brothers are welcome to attend.

Troup Genealogical Society hosts presentation

The Troup Genealogical/Historical Society presents Jack Selden who will make a presentation on the Native American Chief Quanah Parker on Saturday, May 19 at 2 p.m. at the Troup library.

Whitehouse Recycle Center hours

The Whitehouse Recycle Center is open every Wednesday 7-10 a.m. and 3:30-5 p.m. as well as the first and third Saturday 8 a.m. to noon. Bring your recyclable paper, newspaper, cardboard, plastic, aluminum cans and tin cans. The Recycle Center is located on Railroad Ave.

Whitehouse library activities

The Whitehouse Library offers these activities: Story time is on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. and scrapbooking nights are the third Friday of each month at 6:30 p.m. Come visit the library!

Weight loss support group meets Mondays

The Eat Right For Life Support Group meets every Monday from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in the meeting room of the Regions Bank in Whitehouse (across from the Post Office). Meetings are free. For more information, call 903-839-7634.

Nashville guitarist Keith Cooper will be in concert at First Baptist Church in Whitehouse on Sunday, May 13 at 10:45 a.m.

School Related Activities

WHS Bands present Spring Concert

The WHS bands will present their annual Spring concert on Monday, May 14 in the WHS Arena beginning at 7 p.m. Admission is free.

WHS Band Boosters host Outback Hamburger Supper

Prior to the May 14 WHS band concert, Outback Steakhouse is catering a hamburger supper in the WHS cafeteria from 5-7 p.m. Tickets for the supper are $7.50 each and are on sale from band students and band booster parents.

WJHS Band Concert set

The Whitehouse Junior High Band Concert will be on Thursday night, May 17 at 7 p.m. in the Whitehouse High School auditorium.

Troup ISD trustees meet Tuesday, May 15 at 7 p.m. at the Troup ISD Administration Office at 201 N. Carolina.

WISD trustees to meet

The Whitehouse ISD trustees will meet on Tuesday, May 15 at 7 p.m. in the Wildcat Drive Annex, 109 Wildcat Drive.
