Shirley Delgado

On May 14, 2007 in Houston, Shirley Delgado, born June 18, 1934 to Harm and Bert Searcy in Troup, went to be with Jesus.

Shirley is preceded in death by a son, David Adrian Delgado, and one brother, Nelson Searcy, and is survived by children, Melody Suzanne Delgado, Ricci Mace and husband Glen, Victor Matthew Delgado and wife Carolina, and Stacey Sophia Delgado; grandchildren, Daniel and Noelle Tijerina, Alex and Andrea Mace, Tiffany, Ashley and Christopher Delgado, Sasha Delgado and Raven Delgado; brother, David Searcy; sister, Delight Searcy; many great-grandchildren and numerous other family.

Shirley was a Kilgore Rangerette, an accomplished yodeler, and dated Elvis Presley for two and a half years in his early days. She was a very spiritual person and we take comfort in knowing she is now in paradise.

The family will welcome friends to a pot-luck picnic celebrating Shirley's life at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 19 in Griffin Cemetery, located in Cherokee County on east Highway 110 between New Summerfield and Troup.
