Tigers earn awards, scholarships

The 2007 Troup High School scholarship recipients
A bevy of scholarships and other honors were handed out Tuesday morning at Troup High School's annual awards ceremony.

Among the announcements made was the introduction of the top three graduates: Brent Stenberg, valedictorian; Andrew Scoggins, salutatorian; and Nicole Davenport, historian.

Other honor graduates are Amanda Fain, Steven Fields, Traci Fields, Jaron Hasley, Ashton Howard, Sarah Jeter, Sarah Mendolia, Hagan Patterson, Benjamin Rambo, Emily Richardson, Courtney Stovall, Josh Tollett and Teri Woodruff.

Tracye Martin, dean of high school students, presented scholarships along with representatives from various community and civic groups.

The following scholarships were awarded, listed by organization, presenter, amount and recipient:

In addition to scholarship presentations, high school principal Derek Driver also recognized Josh Tollett as National Honor Society Student of the Year and Cal Sparks as NHS Teacher of the Year.
