Post office drive benefits Troup's food pantry

The Troup Post Office held its annual drive and collected 2,200 pounds of food items, more than doubling last year's 1,000 pounds.

The food donated last year went to the East Texas Food Bank, but this year they designated all the food to stay in Troup. The First United Methodist Church opened a food pantry earlier this year, and the generosity of the post office and the people who donated will help stock its shelves.
