Odis Stewart Sr.
Services for Odis Stewart Sr., 77, Tyler, were held May 19 at Whitehouse Church of God in Christ with Elder Noel Caldwell officiating.

Burial was in Antioch Cemetery, Whitehouse, under direction of Brooks-Sterling & Garrett Funeral Directors, Tyler.

Mr. Stewart died May 14, 2007 in Tyler.

He was born Aug. 25, 1929 in Whitehouse and was a lifelong resident of Smith County. He attended Stanton public schools and was a retired truck driver and member of Whitehouse COGIC, where he was a member of the choir. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Martha Stewart; daughter, Leverta Burns; three sisters; and two brothers.

Survivors include his wife, Alva J. Smith Stewart, Tyler; sons, Odis Stewart Jr. and Michael Stewart; daughters, Edna Thompson, Linda Brown, JoAnn Bowie, Jackie Mackey and Vivian Stewart; sisters, Levada Robinson, Georgia White, Evelyn Stewart, Christine Haggerty and Rachel Sueing; 30 grandchildren; and 40 greatgrandchildren.

Pallbearers were Bobby Stewart, Bruce Stewart, James Stewart, Jerry Stewart, Eric Williams Jr., Olander Williams, Olander Williams, James Campbell, Donnie Ray Campbell Jr. and Mike McKnight.

Honorary pallbearers were Marcus Brown, Vincent Bowie, Christopher Brown, Eric Burns, Jermaine Bowie, Aundre Stewart, Keneth Williams and Anthony Williams.
