Martins commemorate 50 years of marriage

Wayne and LaVerne Martin celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Tuesday in Troup. Wayne married the former Pauline LaVerne Hamilton in Jacksonville on May 22, 1957.

Mr. Martin retired from Eastman Chemical Co. of Longview after 37 years of service. Mrs. Martin retired from Troup ISD cafeteria after 17 years of service. They enjoy traveling, hunting, fishing and ranching. They are members of Martin's Chapel, Church of the Nazarene, Troup.

The Martins have three children, Steve and Kandace Martin of Plano, Susan and Steve Hukill of Tyler and Scotty and Elisa Martin of Troup. They also have 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
