Community Activities

Whitehouse Cemetery Association meets

The Whitehouse Cemetery Association will host their annual meeting and services on Sunday, June 3 at the cemetery located on Memory Lane in Whitehouse. A business meeting will start at 10:30 a.m. then there will be a short church service followed by a picnic lunch under the oak trees. All interested persons are invited to attend. Bring your favorite food dishes and enjoy the fellowship.

Knoxville Cemetery annual services set

The public is invited to attend Memorial Day services at the Knoxville Cemetary on Sunday, June 3 at 11 a.m. Bro. John Cole Jr. will lead the workshop service and Gurley Howell will lead the music. After a short business meeting there will be a covered dish dinner on the grounds. Bring your own lawn chairs.

Baptist Forerunners meet

The Forerunners, senior adults of First Baptist Church of Troup, will meet for a noon covered dish luncheon Monday, June 4. A program of old time music will be brought by Joe Swink of Flint.

Troup American Legion to meet

Troup American Legion will meet Tuesday, June 5 at 6 p.m. at the legion hall.

Dixie Masonic Lodge to meet

The Dixie Masonic Lodge #272 in Troup will meet Tuesday, June 5 at 7:30 p.m. at the lodge hall.

Game Time for Seniors

Game Time for Senior Citizens will be Wednesday, June 6 from 1-3 p.m. at the Troup library. All senior citizens are welcome to attend.

Whitehouse Library Board meeting

The Whitehouse Library Board will meet Wednesday, June 6 at 5 p.m. at the library.

Whitehouse Recycle Center hours

The Whitehouse Recycle Center is open every Wednesday 7-10 a.m. and 3:30-5 p.m. as well as the first and third Saturday 8 a.m. to noon. Bring your recyclable paper, newspaper, cardboard, plastic, aluminum cans and tin cans. The Recycle Center is located on Railroad Ave.

Whitehouse library activities

The Whitehouse Library offers these activities: Story time is on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. and scrapbooking nights are the third Friday of each month at 6:30 p.m. Come visit the library!

Weight loss support group meets Mondays

The Eat Right For Life Support Group meets every Monday from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in the meeting room of the Regions Bank in Whitehouse (across from the Post Office). Meetings are free. For more information, call 903-839-7634.

Karing Kitchen provides services

The Karing Kitchen offers free hot meals to anyone in need on Monday evenings from 6-7 p.m. The Karing Kitchen is sponsored by five Tyler Churches of Christ and is located at 420 W. Erwin in the fellowship building of West Erwin Church of Christ. For information, call 903-592-0809.

Troup American Legion hosts karaoke

Troup American Legion Post 418 has karaoke every Saturday night from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m.

SpongeBob Squarepants visits Whitehouse

Ambassador Baptist Church is hosting "Soak up the Son" in Whitehouse City Park on Saturday, June 16 from 2-4 p.m. Activities will include karaoke with SpongeBob, games, ice cream and lots of other fun. Call Kim Wilson at 903-509-0793 or Lainie Browning at 903-839-9220 for more info.

WHS graduation Saturday

Whitehouse High School graduation ceremony is Saturday, June 2 at 10 a.m. in Wildcat Arena.

WHS Class of 1997 plans reunion

The Whitehouse High School Class of 1997 is seeking contact information for their upcoming 10 year reunion. Anyone who graduated from WHS in 1997 or those with information on 1997 grads, please send that contact information to whsclassof97@gmail.com.

WISD trustees to meet

The Whitehouse ISD trustees will meet on Tuesday, June 4 at 7 p.m. in the Wildcat Drive Annex, 109 Wildcat Drive.
