PATH launches summer fan drive Throughout the warm weather months, People Attempting to Help (PATH) will hold its annual Fan Club fan drive. The organization collects and distributes new box fans to its clients free of charge, one per family while supplies last. "As the weather gets warmer, those in need - especially the very young and very old - are at great risk. Some people don't have air conditioning and some simply won't use the air conditioning to avoid higher utility bills," said Mitzie Avera, director of development at PATH. "By giving out fans, we can help low-income people in Smith County stay cool and safe these next few months." New box fans can be taken to PATH during regular business hours, 8:30 am-4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Donations for the purchase of fans may also be made on the PATH website, tylerpath.org, or at the PATH office, 402 W. Front St., Tyler. For more information, contact PATH at 903.597.4044 or visit the PATH website at www.tylerpath.org. |
