Angie Spencer Tidwell
Angie was born in Longview on April 9, 1963 to Richard and the late Glenda Spencer of Longview. She graduated from UT Tyler majoring in education and biology, and was a member of San Souci Sorority while attending Tyler Junior College. Angie and husband, Craig, were married on June 8, 1985 and shared one day short of 22 years together. Her life as a mother began with Logan on Nov. 13, 1986 and was made complete with the birth of Layne on Feb. 13, 1989. From that moment on, her life was filled with her children's activities from being room mother in the early years to countless hours spent in the ballpark and gym. Angie's greatest joy in life was taking care of her family. Her husband, her sons, her brother and sister, father and late mother, cousins, aunts and uncles were the blessed recipients of her compassionate love and care. Mention the word "go" and Angie was ready. She loved to travel. With her feisty personality and adventurous spirit, she never met a stranger. There was always room in her life for one more friend. There was never a challenge she couldn't meet or an event she couldn't organize. Her outward beauty was enhanced by her beautiful spirit that shone through her crystal blue eyes. Her friends and family were blessed by her untiring ability and intuitive spirit that recognized their needs and met them. To know Angie was to have her deliver your favorite food when you least expected it, receive a call when you most needed it and lend an ear to share your joys and sorrows when your heart was full. The fruit of Angie's spirit is evidenced in the number of friends who consider her one of their dearest friends. A celebration of the life of Angela Kay "Angie" Spencer Tidwell was held at the Chapel of Green Acres Baptist Church June 12 with John Richard Spencer and Steve Stanley officiating, under direction of Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Directors. Burial followed at the Whitehouse Cemetery. Survivors include her husband, Craig Tidwell of Whitehouse; father, Richard Spencer of Longview; two sons, Logan and Layne Tidwell of Whitehouse; a brother, Richie Spencer of Henderson; and a sister and brother-in-law, Janie and Don Farrer of Longview. Pallbearers were Chris Cain, Spencer Smith, Tee Hawkins, Peyton Price, Jeremy Cagle, Kye Heck, Chad Emmons, Luke Shivers, Payton Fedell, Banks Brandon and Caleb Jacque.
