Tyler Bookmobile hits the road this summer

The Tyler Public Library's Bookmobile is hitting the streets again this summer to bring books to those who can't make it to the library's downtown location.

The Tyler Public Library will station its bookmobile at both ends of the city during June and July. In order to provide greater opportunity for the public to visit, the bookmobile will maintain a five-day per week schedule.

Tuesdays through Saturdays the bookmobile will be parked at the City of Tyler's Faulkner Tennis Complex from 10 a.m. until noon. The same Tuesdays through Saturdays the Bookmobile will be parked at the City of Tyler's Glass Recreation Center from 2-4 p.m.

To borrow books from the bookmobile visitors must register for a Tyler Public Library borrower's card. Everyone registering needs to bring identification and proof of a residential address. This proof can be a driver's license, student ID or other form of identification that clearly shows the applicant's name and address.

Those who live outside the city limits of Tyler will register for a borrowers card like anyone else but must also pay a 50- cent fee for each item borrowed.
