Prince of Peace holds garage sale Saturday

The Prince of Peace Catholic church is holding a garage sale on Saturday, June 23 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. All proceeds benefit the POP Teens youth group.

Parkinsonians of East Texas meeting

Parkinsonians of East Texas will meet Thursday, June 28 at 2 p.m. at East Texas Medical Center Pavilion, 801 Clinic Dr., Tyler. The speaker will be Kay Robinson of the Better Business Bureau offering information on senior citizen scams. Parking is free for the meeting.

Dixie Masonic Lodge installs officers

The Dixie Masonic Lodge of Troup will host a covered dish supper followed by installation of new officers on Saturday, June 30. The supper will begin at 6 p.m. and the ceremony at 7 p.m.

Whitehouse Recycle Center hours

The Whitehouse Recycle Center is open every Wednesday 7-10 a.m. and 3:30-5 p.m. as well as the first and third Saturday 8 a.m. to noon. Bring your recyclable paper, newspaper, cardboard, plastic, aluminum cans and tin cans. The Recycle Center is located on Railroad Ave.

Whitehouse library activities

Sail Away With Books, the Texas Summer Reading Club, meets every Wednesday at the Whitehouse Community Library. Sailors, age 3-6, meet 9:30-10:15 a.m. First Mates, age 7- 10, meet 10:30-11:15 a.m. Captains, age 11-14, meet 11:30 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.

Weight loss support group meets Mondays

The Eat Right For Life Support Group meets every Monday from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in the meeting room of the Regions Bank in Whitehouse (across from the Post Office). Meetings are free. For more information, call 903-839-7634.

Karing Kitchen

The Karing Kitchen offers free hot meals to anyone in need on Monday evenings from 6-7 p.m. The Karing Kitchen is sponsored by five Tyler Churches of Christ and is located at 420 W. Erwin in the fellowship building of West Erwin Church of Christ. For information, call 903-592-0809.

Troup American Legion hosts karaoke

Troup American Legion Post 418 has karaoke every Saturday night from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Faith Conference on tap next week

Bethany Word of Life Tabernacle, 6808 Paluxy Drive in Tyler, will host its annual Faith Conference, Thursday, June 21 - Saturday, June 23. Day services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. Evening services on Friday are scheduled for 7 p.m. and the Saturday evening service time can be obtained by calling the church at 903-534-0094. WISD trustees to meet

The Whitehouse ISD trustees will gather for a special called meeting on Monday, June 25 at 7:30 a.m. in the Wildcat Drive Annex, 109 Wildcat Drive. Following the meeting, the trustees invite the public to attend a ground breaking ceremony for the new elementary school behind the junior high.

Whitehouse City Council to meet

Whitehouse City Council will meet Tuesday, June 26 at 6:00 p.m. in the Whitehouse City Council and Court chambers at 311 E. Main.
