Jordan Jackson
More than 350 graduating high school seniors in Texas have been awarded scholarships totaling nearly $1.5 million to attend the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton.

Area freshmen and the scholarship(s) they have been awarded are: Jordan Jackson, Whitehouse, BGCT $50/hour Ministerial Scholarship, Denominational Worker Dependent Scholarship and Crusader Scholarship; Casey Boll, Tyler, Crusader Scholarship; and Adrian Beard, Flint, Foster Endowed Scholarship.

Nearly all freshmen enrolling in the fall at UMHB will receive some form of financial aid, according to Ron Brown, associate vice president for enrollment management and director of financial aid at the university.

Students are eligible for institutional scholarships based on academic achievement and/ or financial need, said Brown.

During 2007-08, more than $35 million will be awarded in financial aid to students attending UMHB. This financial aid includes grants, scholarships, loans, and the work-study program.
